Jinkx Monsoon has gone from being a cool mom to a married mom!
Seattle’s premier Jewish, narcoleptic drag queen surprised her fans when she announced that she married her boyfriend Michael Abbott this past weekend in an intimate, at-home ceremony.
“I guess the cats are out of their respective bags. On January 9th, 2021, Michael and I said our vows and became spouses by law. We had an at-home wedding, witnessed by our housemates, with our officiant Deven Green safely Skyping in and our family and friends watching safely through Zoom,” Jinkx wrote, adding, “It was the perfect day.”
Jinkx then thanked Tammie Brown, BenDeLaCreme, and their Best Person, Kenneth Lee, for “the integral parts they played in the ceremony.”
This is just the latest bit of good news for the RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5 winner. Jinkx and her drag bestie, BenDeLaCreme, made a cameo in the hit Hulu holiday movie Happiest Season. Their appearance in the film proved so popular that their Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Special was also made available on the streaming service to glowing reviews.
“It’s been easier to forget, this year and last,” Abbott posted on his Instagram with images from the surprise wedding ceremony. “But this experience has been the ultimate reminder of how beautiful life is and how thankful I am for all of it that I’m allowed.”
Condragulations to the happy couple!
