The “Inevitable” Jinkx Monsoon Blows Back Onto Off-Broadway

Jinkx Monsoon is winding down her reign as America’s Next Drag Superstar but she has quite a lot to show for it: Since being crowned winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6, she’s starred in the hit off-Broadway cabaret show The Vaudevillians, banked an appearance on CBS’ Blue Bloods and released her debut record, The Inevitable Album, on iTunes.

Last week Monsoon returned to the Big Apple with The Inevitable Concert, featuring tracks off the new album,  including the Fred Schneider-penned swing-dance anthem, “The Bacon Shake.”

She calls the end of her reign “bittersweet”: “Mother Ru lifted me up and give me the chance to do the work I’ve always wanted to, and I’m extremely proud of the results,” she told Out. “But… I’m excited to see what comes with the crowning of a new superstar, and I’m confident that I’m leaving the legacy I want to be remembered by.”

Spoken like a true class act.
