Gay Twitter™ Drags J.K. Rowling's Latest Attempt at LGBTQ Inclusion

"Dumbledore’s patronus is the Grindr logo."

Grab a glass of Butterbeer, 'cause Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling attempted to offer more insight into Albus Dumbledore's sexuality, and LGBTQ fans totally roasted her.

In a bonus interview from the Blu-ray edition of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, out now, Rowling revealed that Dumbledore and his purported love interest Gellert Grindelwald had an "incredibly intense... love relationship." She went on to add that she believed there was a "sexual dimension" to that relationship.

Ultimately, she claimed she was "less interested in the sexual side... than I am in the sense of the emotions they felt for each other, which ultimately is the most fascinating thing about all human relationship."

Meanwhile, die-hard HP fans know that Dumbledore's sexuality has never been explicitly addressed in the books or the films—and there's no promise that he'll get his 15 minutes of queer fame in any of the future Fantastic Beasts movies, either.

Naturally, Gay Twitter™ pulled no punches, mocking Rowling for trying to be queer-inclusive after the fact. (Some of these tweets are NSFW, but come on, you knew that was coming.)

It wasn't all Grindr jokes and memes about gay sex, though. Queer YA author Amy Rose Capetta (Once and Future, Entangled) brought up a very good point:

Now that's a cause we can get behind.
