JLo And Lin-Manuel Miranda Perform Orlando Tribute “Love Make The World Go Round” On “Tonight Show”

"Those who hate us and fear us cannot keep us down."

After announcing last week that they were collaborating on a song in tribute to the lives lost in the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub, Jennifer Lopez and Lin-Manuel Miranda debuted the single “Love Make The World Go Round” on the Tonight Show last night.

As audio of Miranda’s now iconic “Love is Love” Tony award acceptance speech played, the cameras slowly panned up a dress made to look like a panel of stained glass to reveal Lopez alone at a microphone.

She began to sing, with spotlights eventually revealing a minimalist orchestra and Miranda himself, who joined in with an impassioned rap halfway through the stirring performance.

The entertainers, who are both Puerto Rican, were moved to write the song after reports revealed that nearly 95% of the victims of the attack were members of the Latinx community.

All proceeds from the song, now available on iTunes, will go directly to the Hispanic Federation’s “Somos Orlando” campaign.
