We're glad Jodie Foster stuck with acting for two reasons: 1) Contact just wouldn't have been the same without her, and 2) she's not very good at being a musical artist, as you can tell by the video she's just recorded for W magazine.

Jodie isn't thrilled. Especially after she realizes the chorus is essentially just the same question repeated over and over again.
