John Boyega Hints Again At Gay “Star Wars” Romance

"It’s not going to go the way you think it’s going to go."

It’s no secret that many fans are pushing for a Finn-Poe romance in the next installment of the Star Wars franchise, and star John Boyega has once again added more fuel to the fire with his recent comments hinting that our dreams could become a reality.

Speaking to Variety, Boyega first confirmed that we shouldn’t expect to see his character end up with the film’s female lead, Rey.

“Finn and Rey – they’re just friends,” the actor said. “Finn is a stormtrooper, so he doesn’t really know what’s going on.”

But it was his next comment that really piqued the interest of excited fans.

“The romance thing is something that’s going to be interesting in the next installment,” Bodega added. “It’s not going to go the way you think it’s going to go.”

It’s not the first time the young actor has hinted that there could be a gay romance in the franchise’s future, and while some are accusing him of “gay baiting,” we’re just excited it’s something that’s even being discussed.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is scheduled for a December 15, 2017 release, so we have a little more time to work on those Finn-Poe fan theories before the truth is finally revealed.
