The Evolution Of Johnny Weir's Olympic-Worthy Hair Game

Tracing the roots of those luscious locks.

Flamboyant figure skater Johnny Weir is known for his illustrious career—and his much-anticipated 2011 coming out.

Since retiring from figure skating, Weir has written his own memoir, starred in his own reality TV show and designed his own fashion label. He's also become a breakout star at as an Olympics commentator for NBC sports, alongside fellow ex-skater Tara Lipinski.

But Johnny's incredible head of hair threatened to steal focus from everything. Today, we trace the roots (pun intended) of his eccentric coifs.

Weir (and his luxurious, shaggy black locks) make their international debut at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin, Italy. He didn't place on the podium, but he did top his personal-best score.
