"America’s Got Talent" Semifinalist Jonathan Allen Releases LGBT Anthem “Amen”

This is the first song Allen's produced since appearing on the show.

The openly gay opera singer, who made it to the semi-finals on the eighth season of America's Got Talent, debuted the track last week, describing it as an "LGBT liberation song."

Since appearing on AGT in 2013, Allen has been living and working in Albuquerque. "Amen" is his first release as a solo artist and speaks to the "trials and tribulations" faced by the LGBT community.

“The song touches on several issues that surround the community in day-to-day life, and in the political realm," he commented.

"The song attempts to chip away at many issues by starting a dialogue that shows people we all can believe the same things, deal with the same things, and be torn apart by the very same things that should bring us together."
