He’s traded in the Castro for Quantico.
Jonathan Groff, who was last seen in HBO’s Looking movie last summer, stars as FBI special agent Holden Ford in the new Netflix show, Mindhunter.
Based on the true crime novel, Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker, the book follows Special Agent Douglas as he profiles some of the country’s most infamous serial killers including Charles Manson and Ted Bundy.
Groff’s character is based on Douglas and depicts his career profiling serial killers in the 1970s.
The moody trailer is pretty high on the creep scale with one murderer telling Groff’s character: “You want truffles? You gotta get in the dirt with the pigs.”
Looking this is not.
Netflix is currently being tight-lipped regarding any details about the series, but David Fincher (House of Cards, Seven) directs the pilot and serves as an executive producer with Charlize Theron.

Mindhunter premieres on Netflix in October.
