Glee actor Jonathan Groff has just signed on to shoot a pilot for HBO about three gay thirtysomethings living in San Francisco.

Groff, who first caught our eye in Broadway's Spring Awakening and is currently making time with Star Trek's Zachery Quinto, will play Patrick, a video-game developer navigating a less-than-scintilating personal life in the City by the Bay.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the unnamed pilot is being produced by TV veterans Sarah Condon (Bored to Death) and David Marshall Grant (Brothers and Sisters).

It's being pitched as a gay version of Sex and the City—which seems awfully redundant.
