Jonathan Van Ness, resident grooming expert on Netflix's Emmy-winning Queer Eye reboot, is the perfect date.

In honor of WorldPride 2019, Hinge partnered with It Gets Better Project to throw an adult “Pride Prom” Thursday at Brooklyn's House of Yes with Van Ness as host. The theme? Jungle floral disco realness!

After learning 90% of surveyed LGBTQ Hinge members think proms need improvement, the dating app's execs organized the inclusive party. Attendees were encouraged to "come as they are" and bring whomever they choose.

Van Ness, 32, had a lot to celebrate: He came out publicly this week as nonbinary and gender nonconforming.

The "Pride Prom," DJed by Boston Chery, featured aerial dancers, hoop performers, drag queens, and a gender-neutral prom court dance-off judged by JVN.

Hinge founder Justin McLeod announced that the sold-out event had raised $12,150. The app matched that amount and donated $24,300 to It Gets Better Project, which aims to uplift, empower, and connect LGBTQ youth.

Hinge made headlines earlier this year when it was revealed that 2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg met his husband, Chasten, on the app in 2015. The app then saw a 30% increase in profiles created by gay men.

Van Ness earned an Emmy nomination for his short-form digital series Gay of Thrones. He also hosts a podcast, Getting Curious, and tours with his solo comedy show, Jonathan Van Ness: Road to Beijing.

The breakout Queer Eye star's memoir, Over the Top, will be published September 24. The book will revisit the professional hairstylist's upbringing "in a small Midwestern town that didn’t understand why he was so... over the top," publisher HarperOne's official description reads. "Jonathan was an easy target and endured years of judgement, ridicule and trauma—yet none of it crushed his uniquely effervescent spirit."

Queer Eye's third season is now streaming on Netflix.
