A Judy Garland Fan Paid $15,000 to Be Buried Next to Her

But now her body has been moved across the country.

It's gray skies for one Judy Garland superfan after finding out his idol's final resting place wasn't so final after all.

According to Page Six, the Garland stan spent $15,500 to be buried next to her spot in the Ferncliff Mausoleum in New York, a purchase that's all but pointless now that her remains have been shipped to Hollywood.

“It’s funny because there’s a man who specifically flew in from California because he is a big fan of hers,” a cemetery manager explained.

“He purchased a plot near her so when he dies he could be next to her. I don’t know what he is going to do now.”

The Wizard of Oz star's body was sent back to California last Thursday at the behest of her daughter Liza Minnelli, who said Ferncliff didn't have enough room for the rest of the family to be buried alongside her.

The iconic songstress will be re-interred at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, where celebrities like filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, punk rockers Johnny and Dee Dee Ramone, and the Beatles’ George Harrison were all laid to rest.

Garland, a two-time Academy Award nominee and wildly popular concert singer, was found dead in her London home at age 47.
