Julia Roberts to Star in New Series From "Brothers & Sisters" Creator
Julia Roberts is headed back to the small screen.
The A-lister made headlines last year when she starred in the critically-acclaimed Amazon series, Homecoming, and now she is set to return to the streaming giant with a new series based on the 2018 bestselling book, Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win. Deadline is reporting that Roberts has signed on to star and executive produce the series about a woman, Charlotte Walsh, who is a Silicon Valley executive that decides to move back to her hometown in Pennsylvania to run for Senate. Roberts running for office? She has our vote.
Not only are we excited that Roberts is returning for another series, but the Amazon original will be written by out playwright Jon Robin Baitz, who is known for Broadway plays like Other Desert Cities, and creating the ABC family soap, Brothers & Sisters. which ran for five seasons. Maybe Baitz can convince Sally Field to do a guest appearance?
No word yet on when the series will premiere, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, production will likely begin "sooner rather than later."
