We hadn't thought much lately about Mean Girls actor Jonathan Bennett until he got cast on this season of Dancing With the Stars.

Then we started remembering rumors that Bennett danced on our side of the fence, if you catch our drift, and that he was once dated out actor Matt Dallas. (He was even voted "Hottest Gay Celebrity" by users of Hot or Not.)

But since Bennett's never discussed his sexuality publicly, or alluded to a boyfriend on social media, we didn't make any fuss about it.

Then earlier this week, DWTS judge Julianne Hough popped up on Extra and kind of outed him.

"He tweeted at me last year and said I had a nice butt...And I thought, 'Oh he's hitting on me—I should try to go on a date with him!," she recalled. But when Mario Lopez asked what happened after that, she responds "He's gay—so I was like 'That's not gonna work!'"

Not to be catty, but if anyone knows about dating gay men its Julianne Hough.

Ed Kennedy over at our sister site The Backlot captured her off-the-cuff remark.

So did dancing queen Hough make a misstep—or did we just not get the memo that Bennett is already out?

Either way, we still hold a secret fantasy that Aaron Samuels ends up with Damian.
