Another long-rumored project might be seeing the light of day: The long-gestating gay-rights drama, Freeheld, hast made some significant casting decisions.

Ellen Page, who recently came out as a lesbian, has been attached to the project since 2008, but now Julianne Moore and Zach Galifianakis have been added, according to The Wrap.

Freeheld will portray the story of Laurel Hester, a New Jersey police officer who, even as she was dying from a terminal illness, fought to get her pension assigned to her partner, Stacie Andree. The film is based on Cynthia Wade’s Oscar-winning documentary of the same title and will be directed by Peter Sollett, with a screenplay by Philadelphia scriptwriter Ron Nyswaner.

Moore has been cast as Laurel Hester, while Page has been attached to the role of Andree.  Zach Galifianakis will play Steven Goldstein, a New Jersey activist.

Production is expected to begin this summer.
