Mariah Carey is taking another stab at her holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by adding the vocal talent of a teenage pop star. That’s right, Mariah and Justin Bieber are performing a duet of an already perfect song. Say it ain’t so!
Mariah, in true Mariah fashion, made this announcement via a Twit Vid on the roof of her penthouse, wearing a silver jacket, leggings, sky high heels and an assortment of jewelry. She took time to twirl, pose and kept throwing something I assume was meant to be snow at the camera, but seemed more like coconut flakes or maybe glitter (HA!).
Nothing against the Biebs, lest we rile up the rabid hoards of tween Beliebers, but the last thing this song needs is another voice. Especially his.
The track is for Bieber’s Christmas album, Under The Mistletoe, which also fatures Boyz II Men, who famously accompanied Ms. Carey on the Grammy winning “One Sweet Day.” Now that is a good duet.
What say you to this Carey and Bieber duet? Talented or not, it takes some gall to think you can sing on Mimi’s level.
