Kacey Musgraves Joins Mystery Inc. on New “Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?”

From "Golden Hour" to ghost hunting.

Get ready to be super jealous of Daphne Blake. Not just because she gets to travel the country chasing phantoms with the hunky Fred Jones—but because it turns out she’s besties with country music queen and LGBTQ icon/ally, Kacey Musgraves!

The “Dime Store Cowgirl” is the special guest on “The Phantom, the Talking Dog, and the Hot Hot Hot Sauce,” the newest episode of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?

Boomerang/Warner Bros.

Last year, Boomerang, Cartoon Network’s streaming service, debuted its newest Scooby series, which, like the ’70s cartoon The New Scooby-Doo Movies, features the Mystery Inc. gang chasing ghosts with a special celebrity guest. (If you’re unfamiliar with The New Scooby-Doo Movies, check out the classic episode “The Secret of Shark Island” featuring Sonny and Cher.)

The description for “The Phantom, the Talking Dog, and the Hot Hot Hot Sauce,” reads:

Daphne gets a call from a friend that needs help. The gang heads to Nashville, Tennessee, to meet up with none other than country music legend Kacey Musgraves! She’s putting on a special variety show in a famous old auditorium, but the production seems to be cursed! Mystifying accidents and strange ghost sightings have made the entire crew abandon Kacey. Can our gang of mystery solvers help save her show from the shadowy PHANTOM? Or, will it be the “final curtain” for all of them?

Other famous friends slated to sleuth with Scooby on upcoming episodes include Tim Gunn, Gigi Hadid, and Tara Lipinski.

The Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? episode guest-starring Kacey premieres Thursday, October 1 at 3pm ET. Boomerang will be offering the episode for free for a limited time, until then check out Kacey and Daphne’s Nashville reunion in the clip below:

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was "just the cutest thing ever."
