Yep, Kate McKinnon’s Elsa Is Gay in “Frozen 2” Spoof on “SNL”

"We all know! We all know!"

Saturday Night Live is really warming up its engines for RuPaul next week.

Last night’s episode, hosted by Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, featured a fake commercial for Frozen 2’s DVD release that unthawed some wild deleted scenes.

“Anna? Kristoff? Olaf? I’m gay?” says out Emmy winner Kate McKinnon as Elsa, lost and twirling in an enchanted forest. “I don’t know whether we’re headed north, south, gay, or west.”

“I’m not anything,” she assures Cecily Strong as understandably suspicious sister Anna. “You have a fulfilling heterosexual marriage at the age of 18 and I’ve just spent two whole movies playing with snow. Both are equal and good. And then in Frozen 3, I can just freeze my eggs.”

“Elsa, it’s okay,” Anna says, breaking into a song set to the tune of “Let It Go”: “We all know! We all know! We’ve all known since you were a tween. When you dressed as Brienne of Tarth on three separate Halloweens. I don’t care what Disney says. The Twitter storm rages on.”

“The lack of any romantic interest doesn’t bother me anyway,” Elsa adds.

“Whoa, not sure I’m comfortable with that,” says the commercial’s voiceover. “If Elsa is gay, she can turn my son gay, right? With her powers?”

The sketch is poking fun, of course, at the online debate between the fans pushing Disney to out Elsa, voiced by Idina Menzel in the films, and the conservative parents petitioning to keep the fictional cartoon character in the chilly closet.

“I’m just so freakin’ grateful to have this amazing gig,” Menzel told NewNowNext in 2018 when asked about the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend campaign. “I don’t know Elsa’s destiny and, to be honest, I don’t think Elsa knows her destiny yet either. She’s still trying to figure out who she is, where she comes from, why she’s the way that she is, so I think that’s more of the journey that will be explored.”

Another Frozen 2 deleted scene gives Olaf a carrot penis “thicker than a coke can.” Hot.
