Kate McKinnon And Mila Kunis Are Ragtag Runaways In "The Spy Who Dumped Me" Trailer

"There's no turning back for us."

The first trailer has dropped for The Spy Who Dumped Me, an action comedy starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon.

BFFs Audrey (Kunis) and Morgan (McKinnon) see their lives change forever when Audrey's ex-boyfriend (Justin Theroux) arrives at their doorstep, assassins in tow. To her surprise, her ex was actually a CIA agena—and she and Morgan become entangled in a web of espionage as they try to outrun the bad guys who want them dead.

The Spy Who Dumped Me was directed and co-written by Susanna Fogel, who co-wrote the 2014 film Life Partners, about the relationship between a lesbian and her straight best friend (Leighton Meester and Gillian Jacobs).

“We were at lunch one day and one of us said, "Broad City meets Bourne Identity," Fogel told EW of the spy flick's origins. “Our jumping-off point was, What would we do if we had to run from the cops in, like, my Toyota Prius? What would we do if we were confronted with an assassin? We’d probably make fun of something he was wearing.”

It's McKinnon's latest starring role in a feature film, following Ghostbusters, Ferdinand and Rough Night. She told Ellen DeGeneres last week she had great chemistry with Kunis. "We just met for the movie, but it was instant love."

"You can call us friends," Kunis added, laughing. "We're friends. Kate is one of the smartest people, so well-rounded... You're a fun person to be around and have a conversation with."

Kunis also revealed she was "proud" anytime she was able to make the SNL star laugh out loud.

The Spy Who Dumped Me hits theaters on August 3, 2018.
