And they say the royal family is out of touch: Now Magazine reports that the birth of first child of The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William, the presumptive future ruler of the British Isles, will be announced to the world via Twitter.

In generations past, the birth of a royal baby has been announced with a posting on the gate outside Buckingham Palace (that's how the world met William in 1982). But Princess Kate is totally 21st century, so when that little heir decides to say hello—believed to be in the middle of July—it'll go over the Twitterverse.

Okay, so we seriously doubt Kate will actually be the one tweeting. That's what ladies-in-waiting are for, right?
