Katy Perry Signs Gay Singer Ferras To New Label, Duets On "Legend"-ary Track

Katy Perry's rack has been racking up hits on top of hits on top of hits and now the pop tart is trying her hand at bringing that platinum touch to other artists. Perry launched her own label, Metamorphosis Music — a joint venture with Capitol Records — on Tuesday and her first signee is out Jordanian singer-songwriter Ferras.

Ferras was signed to Capitol around the same time as Perry, but without a "Teenage Dream" to his name, he didn't have the same level of head-scratching success. He did, however, have "Hollywood's Not America" off his debut album, Aliens and Monsters. The track was used as the exit music for season seven of American Idol. And speaking of Idol, Ferras was once rumored to be dating season eight runner-up, Adam Lambert.

Metamorphosis has already released Ferras's eponymous EP, which features the Katy Perry duet, "Legends Never Die." Ferras will also be joining his new boss on the road as the opening act of the North American leg of her Prismatic tour.

“I believe [Ferras] is going to be an important artist to watch unfold,” Perry  chimed in a statement. “I am so ecstatic the world gets to hear his music now both online and on tour with me.”
