Katya Returns From Hiatus: "The Bitch Is Back"

Welcome back, queen!

Earlier this year RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 queen, Katya, announced she was taking a break from drag in an Instagram live video—in French—where she said she needed to "take a vacation because I want to survive like Gloria Gaynor."

"I need to take a vacation because I’m tired, I’m exhausted, my brain doesn’t work anymore, because of the drugs, because of all the gigs, I believe you will understand," Katya (real name Brian McCook) said in the video, referencing her past drug addiction.

But now it looks like the "bright red scare with the long blonde hair" is about to step back into the spotlight.

Over the weekend, Katya tweeted out a gif of Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman in a scene from Batman Returns with the caption: "The bitch is back."

We don't know exactly how or when Katya will return, but we can tell fans are thirsty for her since her tweet has garnered more than 92,000 likes.

Since Katya took her break a lot has happened in the drag world. Bob the Drag Queen took over for her on Viceland's The Trixie and Katya Show, and her partner in crime, Trixie Mattel, walked away with the crown after she won Drag Race All Stars Season 3 last week.

On a 2016 episode of RuPaul and Michelle Visage's podcast, What's the Tee?, the All Stars 2 queen revealed that after suffering a nervous breakdown during her sophomore year at Massachusetts College of Art and Design she “latched” onto drugs to pull her through her breakdown and out of her depression.

“I’m thinking of suicide everyday because I cant imagine at losing at life,” Katya thought at the time. “I started stealing speed from my roommate. I wanted to do drugs to do more, to live, to cope, to be happy.”

She revealed to Ru and Michelle how she was introduced to meth by a friend, but is thankful everyday that she never got into the “PNP” scene because she was too much of a “loner and rebel.”

“I’ve been through hell on meth, but I’ve also been up in the clouds, and thats why you do it.”

We're glad Katya is rested and ready to continue her conquering of the drag world. She can next be seen in the film, Hurricane Bianca: From Russia With Hate, hitting theaters in May.

Welcome back, queen!
