The "Wait" Is Over: Kehlani Drops Bangin' New Mixtape

Just in time for the weekend!

Queer singer and mom-to-be Kehlani has dropped a new mixtape, While We Wait.

The nine-track mixtape features an array of collabs with other hip-hop/R&B artists including 6LACK, Ty Dolla $ign, and Musiq Soulchild.

It's the 23-year-old artist's first multi-track release since 2017's SweetSexySavage, though she's released singles aplenty in the gaps between big projects.

Kehlani, who came out as "queer—not bi, not straight" last April, also joined forces with "Lesbian Jesus" Hayley Kiyoko for "What I Need," a single off of Kiyoko's hit 2018 album Expectations. Determined to do #20GayTeen right, both artists even sat down to interview each other for Fader magazine, securing their status as music's coolest queer BFFs.

Kehlani also co-starred alongside Kiyoko in the music video for "What I Need," which features the queer renegade romance of our dreams. NBD.

Listen to While We Wait below, and let us know your favorite song in the comments. (It's good, we promise—Dirty Computer queen and fellow queer artist Janelle Monáe gave it her unofficial seal of approval on Twitter.)
