Some people wait a lifetime for a moment with their in-laws like this.

Kelly Clarkson did not let anyone down with her performance of "Fancy" at this year's 41st Kennedy Center Honors.

Clarkson was put to the task of honoring music legend, and her mother-in-law, Reba McEntire. Clarkson is married to McEntire’s stepson Brandon Blackstock.

Did you have a moment like this with your in-laws over the holidays?

Before belting out the country classic, Clarkson talked about her relationship with McEntire.

"Sometimes when we meet our heroes, it doesn't always pan out, you know, how you hope," said an emotional Clarkson. "But meeting Reba, being friends with her, and eventually becoming family has been one of the highlights of my life."

In addition to McEntire, Cher, Philip Glass, Wayne Shorter, and the creative team behind Hamilton were honored at this year's ceremony.
