The search is over.
This morning Kelly Ripa announced her new co-host on her talk show, Live With Kelly.
The announcement comes after a year of auditioning various celebrities for the role including everyone from Rob Lowe to Jeff Gordon and Busy Phillips. “They are a part of the Live family forever,” Ripa told the audience in her opening monologue.

On today’s show Ripa spoke to the roaring audience as they eagerly awaited who would be revealed as her new hosting partner.
“Today, the next chapter of the Live story is about to be written,” she told the crowd. After the first commercial break it was revealed that Ryan Seacrest would be Ripa’s new co-host on the newly titled Live With Kelly and Ryan.
“Nice to see you, partner” Seacrest told Ripa as they sat at the table together for the first time. “I couldn’t be more excited to be here with you.”
Seacrest joked his friends guessed everything from him getting engaged to coming out of the closet when he told them that he had a big announcement.
“If you want to get engaged or have a baby or come out of the closet all of those things are possible. This is a safe safe zone,” Ripa replied.
The addition of Seacrest comes a year after Ripa’s former co-host, Michael Strahan left Live after it was announced that he would be joining the morning talk show for Good Morning America, blindsiding Ripa with the news.
Not only is Ripa busy with her Live hosting duties she also produces other television projects, including Logo’s new reality series, Fire Island, which she is executive producing with her husband, Mark Consuelos.
