Straight Man Brutally Attacked For Being "Pink-Shirt-Wearing Homo"

The victim said "bugger to them because it's one of my favorite colors."

A New Zealand man who was brutally assaulted by two men early Friday morning said his attackers called him a "pink-shirt-wearing homo" before pinning him to the ground and punching his face repeatedly.

Kent Morgan, 32, told the Daily Mail he was walking home from work at a local bar at around 1am when his attackers began verbally abusing him.

Morgan said he ignored the two 20-something men, but was attacked from behind as he walked by.

"I just carried on walking because I thought there’s no point answering back because it sounded like they'd had a few beers," said Morgan, noting that one of the men yelled, "Don’t fucking ignore me mate."

Morgan said he braced for the attack as he heard the men run up behind him.

Despite suffering several deep cuts to his face, Morgan said he was able to fight off his attackers to the point that they ran away.

"One guy had me in a body hold and the other guy was hitting me in the eye, but I managed to turn myself to the side and slip out of the hold and wiggle my way free," said Morgan.

"I hit the guy in front of me three or four times and then the one behind me was still holding onto me, so I grabbed him by the ears and bit into his cheek."

"He squealed and just ran off, but they kept yelling at me about my pink shirt."

Morgan said he was troubled by the attack, which happened at the same intersection where a man was held at knifepoint Wednesday, but was most disturbed by its anti-gay nature.

"I've got no issues with homosexuals and I've got mates who are gay, so it’s clearly a blight in the way these guys have been brought up," said Morgan.

He told Stuff.co: "Some people are caught back in prehistoric ages where guys can't wear pink shirts. Well bugger to them because it's one of my favorite colors."
