Kevin Spacey Fired From "House Of Cards"

He's also been dropped from the film "Gore."

Variety is reporting that Kevin Spacey has been fired from his job playing D.C. schemer Frank Underwood on Netflix show House of Cards. The firing comes amid myriad claims of sexual harassment and sexual assault, including, notably, the allegations made by Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp.

A Nexflix spokesperson said in a statement, “Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey… We have also decided we will not be moving forward with the release of the film Gore, which was in post-production, starring and produced by Kevin Spacey.” Gore was a planned biopic of author and cultural lightning rod Gore Vidal.

The news follows Spacey's declaration that he would be taking a voluntary break from acting. A representative for the actor then said, “Kevin Spacey is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment. No other information is available at this time.”

On Thursday Spacey's agent and publicist dropped the actor.
