Kid Rock Thinks Rap-Rock Is "Gay," Not Thrilled About Same-Sex Weddings

Kid Rock is back in the spotlight, promoting his upcoming album, First Kiss. But it doesn't look like he's kissing up to the LGBT community any time soon.

In an interview with The Guardian, the 43-year-old artist dissed rap-rock, the genre that made him famous, as "gay."

“Rap-rock was what people wanted at the time, and they still love those songs at shows,” Rock told the paper. “But it turned into a lot of bullshit and it turned out to be pretty gay."

Rock says he knows that word is contentious but doesn't care. "If someone says you can’t say 'gay' like that, you tell them to go fuck themselves. You’re not going to get anything politically correct out of me.”

In case we weren't clear about his un-P.C. cred, Rock also declared that, even though he's an ordained minister and he supports marriage equality in theory, he's not thrilled about officiating a same-sex wedding: "As an ordained minister I don’t look forward to marrying gay people, but I’m not opposed to it."

Literally tens of gay couples are crying over this.
