Lesbian Couple Tests The Limits Of Love And Sacrifice In “Bean”

"I did not expect to find a kidney on Tinder," says Alana of girlfriend (and donor) Lori.

Two years ago, a lesbian discovered they were a perfect match in more than one way: Alana Duran needed a kidney transplant but was on the donor list for years—until her girlfriend, Lori Interlicchio, discovered she was a match.

Duran and Interlicchio had only met on Tinder a few months before, but their connection was strong enough that Innterlicchio went and got tested. She hid the results at the bottom of a huge birthday box, and filming Duran’s emotional reaction.

“Who knew that when we both swiped right on Tinder that day, that we would be more than just girlfriends but that she would be my kidney donor!” Duran wrote in a Facebook post. “It’s so funny how things work out.”

Now Fuse is sharing the couple’s story in Bean, a new documentary airing November 18 at 10pm.

“When we saw Lori and Alana’s viral video we just had to know what happened next,” said executive producer Cheryl Horner. “Would they really go through with the surgery? Would it be a success? How would this gift affect their relationship? We were excited to be part of their inspiring personal journey throughout all of its emotional twists and turns.”
