Kiss This Man To Help Fight Ignorance About HIV/AIDS

"Too many people in this country believe myths and scaremongering about HIV," says the National AIDS Trust's Deborah Gold

As the news about Charlie Sheen proved, there's still plenty of ignorance about HIV/AIDSc. From how it can be transmitted to the current treatments for HIV-positive (and negative) people, the general public still has a lot to learn.

The UK's National AIDS Trust is doing its bit tomorrow, World AIDS Day, with a popup kissing booth in London's Soho Square.

Visitors can choose whether to smooch a drag queen or gay ginger model Alex Mountain.

NAT chief executive Deborah Gold said idea for the booth came from the fact that 16% of people still believe you can get HIV from kissing. (That's actually UP from 4% in 2005.)

"Too many people in this country believe myths and scaremongering about HIV," says Gold. "This leads to stigma against people living with HIV and increases the number of people getting the disease. It's time it ends."

Pucker up, Alex—we're ready to educate.
