It was a dark and stormy night (cliché, of course), but vampires and fang-bangers alike gathered at AIRE Ancient Baths in TriBeCa this past Thursday for a milestone event.
HBO and Home Shopping Network (HSN) teamed up with celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann for the first time ever to create a line of beauty products and fragrance—rightfully called the Forsaken collection—
The cryptic bathhouse was transformed into a dark yet seductive labyrinth suitable for all creatures of the night, adorned with red rose petals and showcasing the myriad nail lacquers and fragrance. Guests were also given free manicures using the fragranced nail lacquer, as well as a set of fangs to complete their turning. To top it all off, blood inspired cocktails such as “Sookie’s Beetini” and the “Pom Compton” quenched the thirsts of many. Upon departure, Forsaken swag bags were handed out which included the fragrance, nail lacquer, lipstick, and fragrant diffusers for the home (HSN and HBO sure knows how to warm cold blood with free gifts).
What’s unique about the Forsaken collection is its ability to embrace the realm of True Blood in all of its contents. With blood-red colors such as “Bite Me” and “Let It Bleed” for the lipstick and nail lacquer respectively, any human wouldn’t resist being turned. The fragrant diffusers for the home will also spellbind your family and friends when they pay you a visit, and may even attract vampires without your consent. Last, but certainly not least, the Forsaken perfume itself adds an enchanting faerie essence to the wearer that will surely have maenads asking, “What are you?”
The Forsaken collection will be available for order on August 9, 2012 via HSN, but while you’re at it check out some photos from the event…and try not to get glamoured in the process.
