Our Disco Needs Kylie Minogue. Luckily, She's Releasing a New Album.

"DISCO" drops November 6.

We can't safely hit the discotheque any time soon (thanks, COVID-19), so Kylie Minogue is bringing the disco to us.

This Thursday, July 23, the Princess of Pop and staunch LGBTQ ally revealed the title and cover art for her next album, DISCO, slated to drop this fall. She also released "Say Something," the record's '80s-inspired, totally dance-worthy lead single.

"I. Am. So. Humbled. #SAYSOMETHING is reaching #lovers All. Around. The. World!!!" the Aussie-born singer-songwriter tweeted this afternoon. "You’ve had my heart full of joy (and a few tears too 🙂). Love is love, it never ends. ❤️ I mean it. This song is YOURS. ❤️"

The forthcoming record is Minogue's follow-up to Golden, her critically acclaimed 14th studio album from 2018. As NewNowNext previously reported, Minogue teased the new tunes back in December, telling Alan Carr in an interview for The Guardian that she was "really jazzed about [the music] to come."

"I think it’s going to be getting back on the dance floor, like grown-up disco," she added. "That’s where I want it to be. Shimmery."

Minogue isn't the only diva with a large gay following to announce new music today. Country-pop singer Taylor Swift of "You Need to Calm Down" fame also shocked Swifties with a surprise drop of folklore, her eighth studio album, at midnight tonight.

DISCO drops November 6. Until then, groove to "Say Something" (safely, in the comfort of your own home) to hold you over.
