Bette Porter Has Our Vote in First "The L Word: Generation Q" Teaser

And Alice Pieszecki is a talk show host?!

The first teaser for Showtime's The L Word: Generation Q has debuted, and it's officially time for us to dust off our Planet travel mug because we are so ready to dive back into this world.

In addition to some steamy girl-on-girl action, the new preview gives us brief updates on the original series' leads—like Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals), who is now running for mayor of Los Angeles, and Alice Pieszecki (Leisha Hailey), who appears to be a talk show host, of all things.

Like we said before, we're so here for all of this.

As NewNowNext previously reported, the revival will include cameos from OG L Word stars Jennifer Beals (Bette), Katherine Moennig (Shane), and Leisha Hailey (Alice). According to the sequel’s official description, these leading ladies will reprise their iconic characters alongside “a new generation of self-possessed LGBTQIA characters experiencing love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in Los Angeles.”

The eight-episode season will premiere Sunday, December 8, on Showtime.

In addition to other original cast members, the new series will also feature guest stars including Fortune Feimster, Brian Michael, Latarsha Rose, and Stephanie Allyne. Original showrunner Ilene Chaiken has also returned to executive-produce with showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan (The Four-Faced Liar).

In a statement, Showtime President Gary Levine praised Ryan for her vision: "Marja has brought her unique and contemporary vision to The L Word and blended it beautifully into the fabric of Ilene’s groundbreaking series. This revered show was both entertaining and impactful when it originally ran on Showtime, and we are confident that our new version will do that and more in 2019."
