It looks like we are all going to have to learn to love that bitch Edith on the new season of Downton Abbey, as with Matthew and Lady Sybil no longer, Edith is finally gonna get her chance to shine.

We hate this idea already.

Speaking at the TCA event in LA yesterday, actress Laura Carmichael told reporters she saw Edith as “the Carrie Bradshaw of the twenties,” this before a trailer showed Edith flouncing around in some stylish flapper garb (finally) and being wooed by her married boss at the paper. Can't this broad try and find a single dude to trick into liking her?

Mary meanwhile is just gonna be sad all season, and that possible relationship with Branson we all saw is definitely not happening, this according to actress Michelle Dockery. “He’s her brother-in-law!” she said.

It seems like business as usual for the rest of the clan, but this show does always manage to surprise. Oh, and the dates for season four are February 1922 through to the spring of 1923.

Now we just have to wait until January 5, 2014.
