At this year's CinemaCon, director Bradley Cooper debuted the trailer for his upcoming A Star is Born remake, and the reviews were stellar, with some attendees saying they cried just at the preview.

Now Little Monsters everywhere can judge for themselves because Warner Bros. just dropped the first trailer for the movie, and it looks like it contains a powerhouse performance by Stefani Germanotta.

The preview feels like Crazy Heart starring Bradley Cooper, and definitely keeps the chill desert-country music vibes from the 1976 version starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. Then the drama, romance and singing turn up when Gaga enters the picture, and steals the spotlight from Jackson Maine, played by Cooper.

“For those of us lucky enough to watch him work as an actor and producer, it has been clear that Bradley would make this transition to director.” said WB executive Greg Silverman in a statement. “We are honored that he is doing it, here, at his home — Warner Bros. — and with Lady Gaga as a collaborator and co-star. The world is in for a treat as these great artists craft an all new vision of A Star is Born.”

The Gaga-Cooper version will mark the fourth time the story of an unknown performer whose career rises past her husband’s has been told, the last being the 1976 version starring Streisand and Kristofferson.

Gaga has been working on her Hollywood resume in recent years with parts in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and American Horror Story. This will be her first feature film lead role.

If Gaga does snatch some trophies for her performance, hopefully she gives a shout-out to Judy Garland who everyone knows should have won for her role in the 1954 version directed by George Cukor.
