Lady Gaga Resurrects the Meat Dress to Tell You to Vote

Has she been keeping it in a freezer all these years?

Mother Monster said it best!

With Election Day fast approaching, Lady Gaga has issued a new PSA encouraging Americans to cast their ballots this election cycle. The nearly three-minute-long spot sees the “911” singer don some seriously incredible outfits from different eras of her discography, including a Joanne-esque cowboy hat and short-shorts, her rhinestoned Super Bowl bodysuit, and… wait, is that the meat dress?!

“I want to say something to those of you have already voted though: thank you, thank you, thank you,” Gaga says in the beginning of the video. “You did your part, and I love you for it. But if you voted, while I applaud you, I don’t need to talk to you.”

The Chromatican queen goes on to address voters who are undecided, don’t have a voting plan in place, or are unsure if their vote even matters.

“I’m telling you that no matter how you feel, your future is still in your hands with this vote,” she says before a series of a rapid-fire outfit changes. “What you choose to do will affect you. And the fact is that the most critical vote right now is the one this country may never see: yours.”

She even makes a meta reference to the meat dress (pictured above), which she famously wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards: “I’ve said a lot of things in a lot of different ways, wearing a lot of different outfits, makeup, hats, dresses made out of meat, jumping out of stadiums. … I may seem to shift and change, but one thing that has never changed is my voice and what I believe.”

It’s not the first time Gaga has used her platform for social good in recent months. As NewNowNext previously reported, she used her Chromatica merch offerings and her spotlight at the 2020 MTV VMAs to impress the importance of wearing a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic.

You heard Mom: Don’t forget to vote and make your voice heard on or before Election Day next Tuesday, November 3.
