Lady Gaga's Performance Was The Most Powerful Moment Of The Oscars

She deserves all of the applause, applause, applause.

Lady Gaga proved herself worthy of the Oscars stage last year with her wonderful Sound of Music medley, but her performance from this year's ceremony took the singer-and the audience-to emotional new heights.

After being introduced by Vice President Joe Biden, Gaga gave an emotionally raw rendition of her Oscar-nominated song "'Til It Happens to You." As Gaga sang the curtain behind her raised to reveal survivors of sexual abuse, who surrounded Gaga in solidarity.

Gaga would later lose the Best Original Song Oscar to Sam Smith for "Writing's on the Wall" from SPECTRE, but Gaga won for giving us the evening's most emotional moment.
