In response to Stephen Colbert and Nick Kroll’s #PuberMe challenge, lots of celebs posted awkward photos of themselves as teens. But Lance Bass’s throwback ’N SYNC pic might just take the cake for most adorkable.
On The Late Show, Kroll dared Colbert to share a photo of himself during his awkward phase, to help raise relief money for Puerto Rico. Colbert rose to the challenge and was soon joined by a host of other stars, including Bass.
On Sunday, the out star posted a photo on Instagram of himself at 16, alongside his boy-band bandmates. “22 years ago today I met these jackasses. My life would never be the same. Happy #NsyncDay #PuberMe #PuertoRicoRelief.”
The nostalgic photo is timely, since Lance is currently co-hosting MTV’s 90’s House, which puts 12 millennial roommates in a ’90s-inspired house to compete in various throwback-themed challenges.
Others who contributed to the #PuberMe challenge included Billy Eichner, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson and Ruby Rose. Check out some of the other great #PuberMe pics below, and visit United for Puerto Rico or UNICEF to donate to Puerto Rico relief efforts.
