Laverne Cox Gives Lily Tomlin A Tattoo In Trailer For Indie Flick "Grandma"

The first trailer for the indie film Grandma, starring Lily Tomlin and Laverne Cox, have been released by Entertainment Weekly.

The clip has a grungy looking Cox branding Tomlin with a good ol' tattoo on her shoulder.

The movie, which received acclaim at Sundance, centers around Tomlin, a 70s-something acerbic, bohemian lesbian who, after cutting up her credit cards to make a wind chime (um, yes), has to hit up a cast of friends and exes to get $600 for get her pregnant teen granddaughter's (Julie Garner) abortion.

Cox plays a friend of Tomlin, who compensates her in ink instead of cash.

"Now you need me, and I'm broke," Cox tells Tomlin in the trailer. "You want a tattoo?" She then asks.

"A little one!" Tomlin impulsively responds.

"Now THAT I can help you with." Cox says, firing up the needle.

The movie also stars Judy Greer, as Tomlin's much younger ex, and queen Marcia Gay Harden, as Tomlin's estranged daughter.

The movie currently has a 91% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and we're getting Oscar vibes all over. Lily and Laverne, slay the f*ck on.

Grandma is in theaters on August 21.
