Laverne Cox Slays In Homage To Janet Jackson's Rolling Stone Cover

She's in "control."

Laverne Cox is paying tribute to her idols in the October issue of Cosmopolitan, which sees the actress done up as Beyoncé, Tina Turner and other notable women of color in a stunning photo spread done by photographer Ruven Afandor.

“It’s important to know a path has been blazed for me,” she told the magazine.

Yesterday, she revealed one more celebrity makeover: Janet Jackson. Cox appears naked from the waist up in an homage to Jackson's legendary Rolling Stone cover from 1993.

"When we decided to include Janet I knew we had to recreate her iconic #RollingStone cover," wrote Cox on Instagram. "Love you Janet!

She also posted images dolled up as Josephine Baker and trailblazing opera diva Leontyne Price.

Cox will play Dr. Frank N. Furter in Fox’s upcoming Rocky Horror Picture Show remake, airing October 20.
