Laverne Cox Is a Party Girl in Boozy New Holiday Campaign

Smirnoff cordially invites you to the soiree of the season.

Laverne Cox is the life of the party.

Smirnoff has kicked off the holiday season in style with a festive new ad campaign starring the trailblazing actress and activist.

The vodka brand’s “A Not-So-Silent Night” spots show Cox making an extra entrance before boozing and schmoozing through a fabulous holiday party that has everything, honey. A cocktail tower! Fancy gifts! Fruitcake! Chinese food delivery!
“Working with Smirnoff is just a joy,” says longtime brand partner Laverne Cox in a statement. “I love how they’re always upping their game, making each campaign more creative and unexpected than the last, so coming to set is always such a fun experience. Smirnoff is my go-to for the Holiday season because they have something for everyone, whether you’re stuffing stockings and wrapping gifts or bringing party favors to a fabulous soiree.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Laverne onboard for this campaign as she’s the epitome of fun and elegance, perfectly embodying what Smirnoff brings to the table this Holiday season,” says Smirnoff brand director Krista Kiisk.

Cox, who also appears in Smirnoff’s new “Infamous Since 1864” campaign, climbed Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart this year with “Welcome Home,” an original song created in partnership with Smirnoff to welcome the LGBTQ community and allies to WorldPride in New York City. The remix incorporates her dialogue from Smirnoff’s “Welcome Home” campaign ads.

Smirnoff is donating net proceeds from streams and downloads of the song through June 2020 to Transgender Law Center, the largest transgender-led civil rights organization in the U.S., guaranteeing a $10,000 minimum donation.

Cox, the first Emmy-nominated trans actor, played a trans inmate on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, which ended this year with its seventh season. She was recently cast as a celebrity trainer and life coach in the upcoming Netflix series Inventing Anna.
