The Teen Choice Awards are usually a place for laughter and swooning tweens, but Lea Michele struck a somber note when she dedicated her Choice TV Actress in a Comedy award to her late co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith.

“I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out there how much all of your love and support has meant to me over these very difficult past weeks,” she told the audience at Sunday's ceremony.“Not that I had any doubt before, but you guys are most certainly the greatest fans in the world.”

Visibly overwhelmed, Michele said, “For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love we’re going to get through this together.”

She praised Monteith's "incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart" before closing with: "Whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and became a part of all of our hearts — and that’s where he’ll stay forever.”

Before Michele was honored, the Glee cast won Choice TV Comedy and dedicated the award to Monteith. “[Cory was] always ready to sign an autograph or take a picture with a fan," recalled Amber Riley. "He loved you Gleeks.”

Michele has remained somewhat secluded in the weeks since Monteith's death, issuing only a tweet thanking fans for their support.
