Out singer Leo Kalyan owes a lot to George Michael.

“George Michael helped me find my voice. He was an artist who paved the way for people like me to create authentic music," he recently told Attitude. "His death felt like a huge loss to me, as I’m sure it did to gay musicians all over the world.”

“He was an outsider, much like myself, and everything that’s happened in the world over the past few months has made me connect with him on that level even more – both as a gay man and someone from a Muslim, south Asian background."

Kalyan released an EP last year, Outside In, that World of Wonder called "haunting and soul-crushing." Now the London-based singer-songwriter has covered one of his idol's biggest hits, "Jesus to a Child," and the result is a beautiful homage to the late singer.

“As a thank you to George, I wanted to share my own take on one of his most beautiful songs,” added Kalyan.
