Lesbian Wedding Happens in Vegas in Heartwarming New Tourism Ad
Two beautiful women get engaged in a touching new commercial for Visit Las Vegas' Only Vegas Moments campaign, which includes four digital short films and broadcast spots airing on major national channels.
The romantic ad "Now and Then" focuses on a lesbian couple who, while visiting Las Vegas, look back at their Sin City meet-cute. Their spontaneous walk down the aisle is almost foiled by what one woman perceives as her parents' disapproval.
"My parents would never forgive me," she says, dismissing her partner's proposal.
"For getting married without them or for who you're getting married to?" asks the proposer.
"For a young couple in love, a trip to Vegas that starts as just a getaway turns into a life-defining experience," the video's YouTube description reads.
"You have permission to be whoever you want to be in Las Vegas," Visit Las Vegas writes on Facebook.
John Tanzella, CEO and president of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association, says in a statement that the LGBT-aimed ad is "a perfect example of the inclusive environment that awaits all travelers in the destination.”
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that since Las Vegas began marrying same-sex couples in 2014, eight months before the Supreme Court's marriage equality ruling, Nevada has issued more same-sex marriage licenses than any other state.
