Leslie Jordan Spills Tea on Rumored “Will & Grace” Cast Drama

Did he feel any tension on set during his final appearance?

As we’ve said before, quarantine is not a competition, but if it was, Leslie Jordan would be the winner. The out actor’s hilarious Instagram videos have been a source of joy these past few months. Before self-isolation, Jordan had 80,000 followers; now, he has 4.5 million.

Jordan has had many onscreen roles during his decades-long career in Hollywood, but the one he is probably best known for is Beverly Leslie, the pint-sized nemesis of Karen Walker on NBC’s Will & Grace.

His final appearance on the sitcom was in the I Love Lucy tribute episode from the series’ swan song season, which ended back in April. In the episode, he and Megan Mullally reimagine the classic “grape-stomping” scene from the “Lucy Goes to Italy” episode of I Love Lucy. Mullally plays Lucy, while Jordan plays the old Italian woman teaching her how to stomp grapes—and like the original episode, the two end up covered in grape juice.

Rumors of on-set tension between Megan Mullally and Debra Messing plagued the final season of Will & Grace, so when Jordan called in for a video interview on Watch What Happens Live! this week, host Andy Cohen had to ask him if he felt any tension between the cast while filming his last appearance.

“I didn’t. I wish I could spill all of the [details],” Jordan told Cohen. “Megan and I were in a big tub of grapes, and the grapes didn’t mush properly, so there was a lot going on.”

“If there was any tension I didn’t witness it,” Jordan added, explaining how he is afraid of confrontation, so if there were any drama, he “would’ve run.”

Jordan’s entire WWHL! interview is full of gems, so watch the full episode if you can, or at least check out the clip below where he talks about the time he ran into his “batshit crazy” former co-star, Faye Dunaway, at a newsstand in L.A.
