Windows Smashed At Central Pennsylvania LGBT Center

"This was a violation of community space."

Last night, windows at the LGBT Center of Central Pennsylvania were smashed in with bricks, and vandals stole cash from the donation box. No one was in the building at the time.

Out state Representative Brian Sims reported the incident on Facebook, saying police were investigating.

"The LGBT Center remains open, welcoming, safe, and steadfast in its mission to create common ground for the LGBT community and its allies," Sims added.

"I hope the Center becomes a place that feels safe again soon."

It's not clear if the incident was a hate crime or a simple robbery, but staff are hosting an all-ages open house, #ThrowPartiesNotBricks, Saturday evening, to show they're not deterred.

If you'd like to make a donation to help the center get back on its feet, visit the LGBT Center of Central PA website.
