He's got time to take his horse to the "Old Town Road," but Lil Nas X doesn't have time for a boyfriend.

The chart-topping gay country rapper covered Variety's February 2020 issue, and his interview was full of gems. He even got real about coming out to his family—and the world—after hitting it big: As NewNowNext reported last July, Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" shattered music industry records when it topped Billboard's Hot 100 list for 19 weeks straight.

Speaking to Variety, Lil Nas X revealed that he didn't warn his managers, publicists, or record label before issuing those fateful coming-out tweets last summer. He did, however, give his dad a call.

Their father-son relationship is stronger for it, he told the magazine: "We have become closer. I mean, especially now because I don’t have anything to hide. It was a shock for him. It’s still the beginning phase. I’m not comfortable bringing a guy around yet."

Oh—speaking of guys, the "Panini" singer had another #relatable confession: He's way "too busy" for a boyfriend right now.

"I have met a lot of great people this year," he told Variety. "Relationships are hard because either I end up being too busy or I end up falling for another person. I fall super-easily."

There you have it, folks. Grammy-nominated rappers: They're just like us.

Let's just hope and pray Lil Nas X penciled some time into his calendar for that horse ride with Madame X queen Madonna.
