Everyone Shut Up! Lindsay Lohan's "Back to Me" Is… Well, It's Here
May 2020 be known as "the Year of the Comebacks No One Really Asked For." First, the Pussycat Dolls crawled out of 2005 with "React," and now Lindsay Lohan, harbinger of doom and/or angel of mercy, has announced she's "back" with her first single in 12 years.
Ladies and… gays, we now present "Back to Me":
"Now I'm coming back to me," Lilo chants on the chorus, as she recounts some of the darker times. "My life is full of ripped-up pages / I've been weak, contagious / But I'm coming back, I'm coming back to me."
And you know what? She really is coming back, coming back to her. The song is kind of a bop. It's nothing you haven't already heard in 2020, but throw it on in the makeshift nightclub doubling as your living room right now and you've got yourself a good time.
Meanwhile, all that talk of being weak and contagious also resonates given this quarantined life we've all been living. Of course, it's probably too much to ask for a proper music video—what with life as we know it at a standstill and all—but the song could probably use all the help it can get. Sure, Drake just dropped a new song, but given a choice I'd still rather listen to "Back to Me."
I mean, just think of the inevitable dance remixes. Move that couch outta the way!
