Listen To Kesha's Emotional New Song, “True Colors”

A collaboration with Zedd, the song marks Kesha’s first release since her court battle.

After performing together at Coachella a few weekends ago, singer/songwriter Kesha and producer Zedd have released a new song, "True Colors."

Leaked a day ahead of its official release, the track originally appeared on the album of the same name by Zedd, but this new revamped version sees the "Clarity" producer taking a step back to make room for Kesha’s soaring vocals.

Zed had previously reached out to Kesha on Twitter after news broke that she wouldn't be released from her contract with producer/manager Lukas "Dr. Luke" Gottwald.

Following their surprise performance at Coachella, the two began posting pictures from a studio session on Instagram earlier this week, alluding to a collaboration.

The singer captioned her picture "It's a miracle when someone you a chance at finding your voice again with no reason other than that he is a fucking beautiful person with a heart of gold @zedd #truecolors."

Zedd cleared up on Twitter last night that the song was recorded without breaching Kesha's contract with Gottwald.

The lyrics suggests it's a personal song for Kesha, in light of her legal woes and Gottwald's alleged abuse.

"I’ll show you my true colors. I won’t apologize for the fire in my eyes," the "Tik-Tok" singer belts against Zedd’s production. "Let me show you my true colors. It ain't no rainbow."

Rapper Iggy Azalea also took to Twitter last night and revealed that she and Kesha have been working on something, too.

Kesha, a diehard ally to the LGBT community, will be headlining Pittsburgh Pride on June 11, where she will be joined by rapper Angel Haze.
