One cat's found the purrfect fix for her underwear obsession.

Brigit, a 6-year-old Tonkinese cat, has developed a particular penchant for stealing men's under garments. Her owner, Sarah Nathan, claims that Brigit has stolen 11 pairs of boxers and over 50 pairs of socks from her male neighbors since January.

In an interview with the New Zealand Herald, Nathan said the underwear is "all men's. It's really, really weird. She's got really specific taste."

Before moving to their new home over four months ago, Nathan claims that Brigit would bring home an eclectic mix of items, but now all she brings home is underwear.

"[At the old home] she was much less discerning-now she's decided menswear is the thing-and it's a very specific kind of underpants that she likes," Nathan said.

"It's an absolute obsession. A night does not go by without her bringing things home. I got up this morning and there were another four socks in the house."

In an attempt to return the stolen goods to their rightful owners, Nathan took to Reddit, where she displayed a photograph of a sign she'd been posting around her neighborhood.

Nathan also posted about her kleptomaniac kitty on her Facebook page.

"Now this is getting silly," she writes. "This is Brigit's haul from the last two months. Every morning we wake up to more. I've put notes in every letterbox in the street. Someone must be missing this stuff. Please share if you know someone who lives in the George St area.

Nathan says that she and Brigit will be moving homes soon and hopes that this underwear obsession won't be moving with them.

“Hopefully there’s something there she can find to catch, but if not we may have to stash some undies around the farm to keep her stimulated," Nathan said.
